Deep in the South, hidden beneath the mirage of black sand and flying golden pyramids, you will find the gambling heaven of Nybbas. What once was a small oasis for travelling nomads has become a mecca of gambling and entertainment.
This black desert was at one time completely deserted and untouched by human hands. That is, until the discovery by the now rich and powerful family, the Anza Dynasty. You know how the story goes; greedy arrogant merchant discovers beautiful, untouched natural resources, exploits the shit out of it until there’s barely anything left and then oopsies it’s too late. Throw in a coup d’edat with the help of the ol’ gang in Pazuzu and you got yourselves a kingdom.
These black sands are actually the most energy-intense substances in Abbadon and everyone wants to get their hands on ‘em. A handful is enough to power a whole village for a month. With the help of the family’s electromagnetic powers and surging reign, this greedy family of merchants were able to acquire all the sand in the desert and monopolize the market; exploiting the locals and charging extortionate prices.
Now if you look out beyond the bright lights of the casino strip, you’ll see the physical reminder of their dirty work; a starving society struggling to survive in the slums. It was these dirty and despicable actions which enabled the family to grow their wealth and eventually become the rulers of the land. The family self-declared themselves royals, turning Nybbas into an independent monarchy. Basically they built themselves a kingdom; with them on top. Now Nybbas is a commercial, capitalist harbor where too much is never enough.
